For a webmaster, the goal is always to attract website traffic that converts to sales. Unfortunately, not all website traffic converts to sales.
Some website traffic are best described as junk traffic because they are of little or no benefit to the website.
Among the various methods I've employed to generate traffic to my blog Nigerian Entrepreneur, search engine traffic has proven to be the best and most reliable.
1. Search Engines bring targeted traffic. i.e. People visit the website because they are looking for a specific thing. If their need is met, then the webmaster job is done.
2. The work of the webmaster is focused even though it requires a lot of effort to get it done. Once done, he or she can be rest assured that the result will come.
3. With Search Engines, you only need to work once but reap the reward several times over a long period.
If you are presently caught in the web of Digging, Stumbling, Tweeting, Buzzing etc, I encourage you to take out time to work on Search Engine Optimization of your website. SEO requires more effort at the initial stage, but you get to reap the result even when you're sleeping once you've done your homework. Cheers.
